In May we posted about the arrival of the first trailer for the scary, psychological horror that is Intruders. This week, Millennium Entertainment’s CEO Bill Lee has announced that the company has acquired the North American rights to the film, which premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival.
Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later), Intruders is set in London and centres on the origin of a monster that is born in childhood and passed on by the family. Ella Purnell (Never Let Me Go) plays a young girl who is visited every night by this faceless intruder who wants to take possession of her.
This British and Spanish project also stars Clive Owen (Children of Men), Carice Van Houten (Repo Men), Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds), and Kerry Fox, and is written by Spanish duo Nicolás Casariego and Jaime Marques which is based on a story by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.
Millennium Entertainment plan to release the film in the US in April 2012, and is set to be released in the UK on 27th January, 2012.
