With Madonna winning a Golden Globe for her song “Masterpiece” which features in her latest film W.E. over the weekend, we have a new clip featuring British actors James D’Arcy (Age of Heroes) and Andrea Riseborough (Brighton Rock) as King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.
W.E. is a two-tiered romantic drama set in Manhattan in 1998, focusing on the affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcée Wallis Simpson and a contemporary romance between a married woman and a Russian security guard.
Whilst the film has received mainly bad reviews, the new clip, released by the film’s UK distributor Optimum Releasing, both looks and sounds stunning as Wallis (Riseborough) and Edward (D’Arcy) dance around a beautifully designed ballroom. It doesn’t look bad at all, I’d say. But we’ll have to wait until 3rd February to find out.
Also starring British actors Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) and James Fox (Sherlock Holmes), you can watch the new clip below and the film’s trailer here.
