British actress Emma Watson is set to re-team with the director of the last four Harry Potter films, David Yates, it has been revealed this week. Yates’ next project, in which he is in discussion with Watson to star in, is for the drama Your Voice in My Head.
Based on the memoir by Emma Forrest, the film centers on “a young woman who attempts suicide before being saved by a New York-based psychiatrist who’s dying of cancer.”
It seems a big change for Yates to go from a massive franchise to a film with a focus on a single, intimate character, but the relationships of the Harry Potter trio were really brought out in the final few films that Yates directed, so I’m sure this latest film is going to pull a heart string or two.
Warner Bros. are currently in negotiation to acquire the film, and which Tom Hanks and George Clooney are also apparently in talks to star as the male lead. That’s all we know for now, but we will be sure to keep you updated.
