Emma Watson To Star in Sofia Coppola’s ‘The Bling Ring’

(Written for BritScene)

Whilst the Warner Bros. Studio in London are beginning their Harry Potter set tours this month, Emma Watson has already been working hard since her role as Hermione, starring in My Week with Marilyn last year, recently wrapping up filming for The Perks of Being a Wallflower, re-teaming with Harry Potter director David Yates to star in the upcoming drama ‘Your Voice In My Head’, and also joining up with Mexican director Guillermo Del Toro in a re-telling of ‘Beauty And The Beast’.

Already an extremely busy girl, this week we have the news that the British actress is now also set to star in Sofia Coppola‘s latest project, The Bling Ring.

Based on the true story of a group of teenagers who robbed the homes of the rich and famous between October 2008 and August 2009, looting from the likes of Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, and Lindsay Lohan and coming away with over $3 million worth of stolen items, Coppola has already wrote the script for the project, which she will also direct and produce.

It has now been announced that Coppola, known for writing and directing Somewhere, Marie Antoinette, and Lost in Translation, has this month tapped Watson to star in the project, but that’s all we know for now.

The actress has some big dramatic roles ahead of her, but, really coming out of her shell at the end of filming in the Harry Potter franchise, I really think that she will suit these films and I am eager to see what’s to come of them.
