The second official trailer for season two of HBO’s medieval fantasy series Game Of Thrones has been released this week, and if you weren’t looking forward to the series already, with the first official trailer released only a couple of weeks ago, you definitely will be now.
Set to Florence and the Machineβs Seven Devils, the new trailer is both epic and powerful, giving us an even deeper look at where we are this season and a glimpse of the red priestess burning the old gods.
If none of this makes sense to you, then here’s some background information. Created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the series is based on author George R. R. Martinβs best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire collection of fantasy novels, with season two based closely around the second novel, A Clash of Kings. Set in the medieval fantasy world of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the series chronicles the violent struggles among the kingdomβs noble families for control of the Iron Throne. As the new second season opens, additional threats from the snow and ice-covered region north of Westeros and from the eastern continent across a narrow sea are simultaneously beginning to rise.
The new season also introduces 23 new British cast members, who you can read about here, and, set to premiere on HBO on 1st April, you can see the new trailer below:
