This week sees the release of the third trailer for the second season of HBO’s medieval fantasy series Game Of Thrones, which this time looks at the already established relationships and those that are yet to be formed between the cast of the show and its new members, 23 of whom are British.
Created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the series is based on author George R. R. Martin’s best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire collection of fantasy novels, with season two based closely around the second novel, A Clash of Kings. Set in the medieval fantasy world of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the series chronicles the violent struggles among the kingdom’s noble families for control of the Iron Throne. As the new second season opens, additional threats from the snow and ice-covered region north of Westeros and from the eastern continent across a narrow sea are simultaneously beginning to rise.
The new trailer, titled “The More You Love”, showcases many of the women in the cast including Emilia Clarke‘s Daenerys Targaryen, Lena Headey‘s Cersei Lannister and the two generations of Stark women as they face new challenges.
Set to premiere on HBO on 1st April, you can see the new trailer below:
I loved the book Game of Thrones. I waited until I finished it before watching the TV series. Very excited to see season two. I guess I better get reading.
