Joel Gets A Job: Joel Edgerton Joins Lynne Ramsay’s Western ‘Jane Got A Gun’

Set to star in this month’s Bin Laden drama Zero Dark Thirty and in next year’s anticipated adaptation of The Great Gatsby, Joel Edgerton is the latest to join the cast of Lynne Ramsay’s upcoming western, Jane Got A Gun.

Already starring the brilliant Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender, the film follows Jane Hammond (Portman), a good girl who is forced to ask her ex-lover Dan Frost (Fassbender) for help in order to save her outlaw husband Bill (Edgerton) from a gang out to kill him.

The film seems to breaking all the traditions, with Ramsay directing a male driven genre with a female in the lead. If that’s no reason to look forward to this then I don’t know what is.

She did a fantastic job with We Need to Talk About Kevin anyway, so it’s definitely pretty promising.

Production is set to start in early 2013, so hopefully we will see the release of Jane Got A Gun sometime in 2014.
