This month sees the release of the new international trailer for Neil Jordan’s vampire horror-thriller Byzantium, and it’s looking a lot better than you might have first imagined.
Adapted from Neil Gaiman’s novel, The Graveyard Book, and scripted by Moira Buffini (Jane Eyre) from her own stage play, the film follows Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan as a mother-daughter vampire team who sometimes pose as sisters.
But when the young girl meets a sickly boy (Caleb Landry Jones) and starts up a relationship with him, his discovery of what she really is sets in motion a chain of events that could change everything.
From the director of Interview with a Vampire, it’s expected that Jordan knows what he’s doing with the vampire genre and it comes across quite well at the first glance of this new trailer, which you can watch below.
Byzantium is set to be released in the UK on 3rd May.
