David O Russell to Direct Jennifer Lawrence AGAIN In ‘The Ends Of The Earth’

(Written for Lost In The Multiplex)

Currently making the awards rounds for his latest film Silver Linings Playbook and with the recent news that he’s set to direct the actress again in his next project, director David O. Russell is now planning a third film with The Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence, as Russell is attached to direct The Ends Of The Earth.

With Silver Linings Playbook being one of the most successful films of 2012, earning Lawrence a Best Actress Oscar nomination and Russell a Best Director nomination, it was announced last week that the director is also set to direct Lawrence in his next project, a currently untitled drama about an undercover sting operation in the 1980s. Set start shooting next month, the film will also star Lawrence’s SLP co-star Bradley Cooper, as well as Christian Bale and Amy Adams.

It’s obvious that the two work brilliantly together, and now we have even more to look forward to as Russell’s third project will see the two working together on the Weinstein Company drama The Ends of the Earth, which is based on the lives of Ernest and Lydie Marland. Centring on the controversial love affair between the oil baron/eventual Governor of Oklahoma and his adopted daughter, the film will look at how their relationship lost Ernest everything he had.

With a script written by Argo scribe Chris Terrio, it’s likely that Russell will start on the project after he wraps up his next one. It certainly looks like we’ve got a lot to look forward to from them both.
