BOOK TOUR: No Sleep For Bear by Duncan Beedie

No Sleep For Bear by Duncan Beedie sees the return of Bear as Winter approaches and it’s time for Bear to have a nice long sleep. But the more he tries to get to sleep, the more AWAKE he feels. So he decides to copy his forest friends who seem to doze off without any trouble: he sings in the trees like Blackbird, burrows underground like Badger, and even hangs upside down from his cave roof like a bat. But nothing works – until the wise Frog shows him how to relax, and soon the forest is reverberating with his snores!

Today is my stop on the books on tour for this book. Thank you to the publishers for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

No Sleep For Bear is the perfect book for a bedtime read with your little ones. As we follow Bear around the woods and he tries to copy the different ways that his friends fall asleep, we get to meet some interesting animals and learn a little about them.

My five-year-old really liked the different animal characters and laughed at Bear’s attempts to fall asleep. And as a parent, I loved the message that all it takes is some quiet time before bed, teaching children the importance of switching off all distractions and taking a moment to relax.

Most of all, the illustrations in this book are absolutely beautiful. The autumnal tones suited the woodland setting really well and every page is full of stunning detail.
