Published in 2018, Still Me is the third book in the Me Before You series by Jojo Moyes, which sees Lou Clark leave her boyfriend Sam behind in London to start a new job in New York. She knows her employer is a good man and she knows his wife is keeping a secret from him. What Lou doesn’t know is she’s about to meet someone who’s going to turn her whole life upside down. Because Josh will remind her so much of a man she used to know that it’ll hurt. Lou won’t know what to do next, but she knows that whatever she chooses is going to change everything.

While I’m a big fan of Me Before You, I wasn’t too keen on the second book, After You. But I needed a book to fill a prompt for a “clumsy character”, and Lou Clark fits into that perfectly, so I thought I’d give this third book a go!
It took me a while to really understand where this story was going. While it was enjoyable to see Lou move forward, to take her lessons from Will to do something exciting with her life, and to experience new things in the lively New York City, did it really make a third book necessary?
By the end, however, it all makes sense. Seeing Lou struggle to find out who she wants to be as a person was a lovely journey to follow, and I really feel like it was a perfect way to say goodbye to her character.
