DVD Review: The Lobster

Rating:

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, The Lobster is set in a dystopian near future, where single people, according to the law, are taken to a hotel where they are obliged to find a romantic partner in 45 days, or else they are transformed into an animal of their own choice and sent off into the woods.

The film follows David (Colin Farrell), who enters the hotel with his brother, a dog, after his wife leaves him for another man.

Aardman Animation have put 5 new clips online for their latest film, Arthur Christmas, this week.

From the studio behind Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit, Arthur Christmas tells a classic Christmas tale asking the often-wondered, never-answered question, “How does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?” The answer is found through unlikely hero, Arthur, the son of Santa, who must use his father’s ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole to deliver a present to a little girl before Christmas morning dawns.

New Trailer For Aardman Animation ‘The Pirates!’, Me Hearties

The latest trailer for Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists, the first film based on a series of novels from Gideon Defoe‘s The Pirates! series, has been released this week, following The Pirate Captain, voiced by Hugh Grant (Did You Hear About the Morgans?), and his crew of pirates.

Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists is based on the first two of Defoe’s novels, The Pirates! in an Adventure with Scientists and The Pirates! in an Adventure with Whaling. The Pirate Captain is on an adventure to beat his rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven – TV’s Entourage) and Cutlass Liz (Salma HayekPuss in Boots) in the Pirate of the Year Award, and along the way must battle Queen Victoria (Imelda StauntonArthur Christmas) and meet a young Charles Darwin (David TennantFright Night).
