Film Review: Little Women (2019)

Based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott which was originally published in 1868, this 2019 adaptation of Little Women, written and directed by Greta Gerwig, is the seventh film adaptation of the widely loved story, in which Jo March (Saoirse Ronan) reflects back and forth on her life. She tells the beloved story of the March sisters, four young women – Jo, Meg (Emma Watson), Amy (Florence Pugh), and Beth (Eliza Scanlen) – who are each determined to live life on their own terms.

Film Review: Beauty And The Beast (2017)

Directed by Bill Condon and a live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1991 animated film, which is an adaptation of Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont‘s 18th-century fairy tale, Beauty And The Beast follows a selfish prince (Dan Stevens) who is cursed to become a monster for the rest of his life, unless he learns to fall in love. When a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, Belle (Emma Watson) enters his enchanted castle, Beast takes her prisoner. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

Emma Watson Cast As Belle In Disney’s Live-Action ‘Beauty And The Beast’

Emma Watson has confirmed that she is going to be the lead in Disney’s upcoming live-action version of the classic fairytale, Beauty And The Beast.

Set to be directed by Twilight: Breaking Dawn’s Bill Condon, the film will apparently stick really close to the original 1991 animated film, which was a huge box-office success and the first animated film to be nominated for the best picture Oscar.

Film Review: Noah

Directed and co-written by Darren Aronofsky, Noah is a biblically inspired epic that follows the story of a man, Noah (Russell Crowe), and his family – his wife Naameh (Jennifer Connelly), sons Shem (Douglas Booth), Ham (Logan Lerman), and Japheth (Leo McHugh Carroll), Shem’s wife Ila (Emma Watson), and grandfather Methuselah (Anthony Hopkins) – who is chosen by his world’s creator to undertake a momentous mission before an apocalyptic flood cleanses the world. A story of courage, sacrifice and hope, as Noah is faced by an army led by the man who killed his father, Tubal-cain (Ray Winstone), how far will he go to accomplish a task set to him by God?

Film Review: This Is The End

Directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, This Is The End stars a cast ensemble who, playing themselves, are faced with the apocalypse. While attending a party at James Franco‘s house, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson, find themselves trapped after a series of strange events. As the world starts to unravel outside and supplies begin to run low, the six friends are forced to face their fate and the true meaning of redemption, as the threat of being sent straight to hell for their sins begin to tear their friendships apart.

Taken under the wings of two seniors, Patrick (Ezra Miller) and Sam (Emma Watson), Charlie is welcomed into the real world of friendships, first loves, drugs, and the general awkwardnesses of adolescence, as the people he meets who help him to find out who he really is. But is it only a matter of time before his traumatised past creeps up on him again?

Anthony Hopkins Climbs Aboard The Ark for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah

The cast for Darren Aronofsky‘s Biblical retelling of Noah just keeps getting better and better, with Sir Anthony Hopkins becoming the most recently announced to board the ark.

Hopkins, best known for his role as Hannibal, will play Noah’s grandfather, the 900-year-old Methusaleh, who dies seven days before the Great Flood.

Emma Watson In Talks To Join Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’

Emma Watson is in talks to join Darren Aronofsky’s cast of Noah, it has been recently announced, an upcoming Biblical retelling of the classic tale of Noah and his ark.

Already starring Russell Crowe as the Biblical ark builder, Watson is in discussions to play Ila, a young woman who develops a close relationship with Noah’s son, Shem, who will be played by Douglas Booth.

Following Logan Lerman in the lead role, the film follows his character as an introverted high school freshman who finds acceptance in two senior students, one played by Emma Watson and the other by Ezra Miller, as he is caught between trying to live his life and escape it.

Studio in London are beginning their Harry Potter set tours this month, Emma Watson has already been working hard since her role as Hermione, starring in My Week with Marilyn last year, recently wrapping up filming for The Perks of Being a Wallflower, re-teaming with Harry Potter director David Yates to star in the upcoming drama ‘Your Voice In My Head’, and also joining up with Mexican director Guillermo Del Toro in a re-telling of ‘Beauty And The Beast’.

Already an extremely busy girl, this week we have the news that the British actress is now also set to star in Sofia Coppola‘s latest project, The Bling Ring.

A new behind-the-scenes featurette for Simon Curtis‘ My Week With Marilyn has been released this week, which includes commentary from leading lady Michelle Williams and some of the British cast, Judi Dench and Emma Watson.

Three new images for author and director Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower have been released this month, which emphasise the film’s romantic setting as Emma Watson and Logan Lerman lead in this young adult novel adaptation.

The story follows a shy, unpopular high-school freshman, Charlie (Lerman), who is coping with his mental issues while trying to find a place to belong. Through a series of letters to an anonymous person, he explores his awkward adolescence and is introduced to a world of drugs and sex by his senior friends Sam (Watson) and Patrick (Ezra Miller) in 1991 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

My Week With Marilyn has had very little promotion despite its intriguing hype. Premiering at the New York Film Festival this weekend, we have finally been given a trailer to show us non-press folks what we will be missing out on.

It’s the end of an era, and a sad one at that. For the millions of Harry Potter fans around the world, it has all finally come to a close. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, directed by David Yates, is the latest and final instalment to the Harry Potter franchise, based on the novels by J. K. Rowling.

After a decade of filming, the magical trio of Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) finish their time at Hogwarts with a fight-to-the-death war. One can’t live whilst the other survives, and the long-awaited finale is here. But will Harry succeed?

Directed by David Yates, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) drop out of Hogwarts to seek the remaining Horcruxes in order to defeat Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). On their journey, the trio learn about The Deathly Hallows, three sacred objects that together could also help them on their way. Following Voldemort’s return and Dumbledore’s death, they must sneak into the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts itself whilst having to remain hidden from the dark takeover of Voldemort and his Death Eaters.

Directed by David Yates and based on the sixth book in J.K. Rowling‘s Harry Potter series of novels, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince sees Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) enter their sixth year at Hogwarts, as both the muggle and wizarding world are under Voldemort’s tightening grip. Meanwhile, Dumbledore enlists the aid of resourceful yet unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn (Jim Broadbent) as we learn more about the dark past of the boy who grew up to become Lord Voldemort. Does Slughorn hold the key to their enemy’s Achilles’ heel?
