Most recently known for his role as a young Magneto in the latest X-Men franchise, Michael Fassbender is most credible for his compelling performances in a number of hard-hitting true stories, most notably alongside directed Steve McQueen. It certainly took a few bad films to get him there, but he is now one of the best working actors around.
Here is my ranking of his performances (not of the films themselves) to date:
From Alice in Wonderland to Jane Eyre, to Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak and Park Chan-wook’s Stoker, Mia Wasikowska is one of the most diverse actresses working in film at the minute and has worked with some of the best directors of our time.

Directed by Cary Fukunaga and based on Charlotte Brontë‘s 1847 novel of the same name, Jane Eyre follows 18-year-old Jane Eyre (Mia Wasikowska) who, after being shipped off to a stark boarding school, later finds work as a governess for the ward of Edward Fairfax Rochester (Michael Fassbender), master of Thornfield Hall. As she begins to soften the heart of her employer, Jane soon discovers a scandalous secret and takes flight.
