Film Review: Ant-Man

The 12th instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing an end to Phase Two, Ant-Man is directed by Peyton Reed, with a screenplay by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Adam McKay, and Paul Rudd. Armed with a suit with the enables the ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and begin to live a life that his daughter will look up to. With the help of his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and toughened up by Pym’s daughter, Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Scott must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world from a new generation of towering threats.

‘Attack The Block’ Sequel, TV Spin-Off and an American Remake

Writer and director Joe Cornish (The Adventures of Tintin) has confirmed this week that several options for his British science-fiction/action film, Attack The Block, are now on the table, including a sequel, a television series and an American remake.

Attack The Block was released in the UK in May 2011 and was Cornish’s directorial debut. The film stars Nick Frost (The Adventures of Tintin), Jodie Whittaker (One Day), Luke Treadaway (Killing Bono), and many new faces including John Boyega, Alex Esmail, Leeon Jones, Paige Meade, and Simon Howard. The film centered on a street gang living on council estate in South London who were faced with having to defend themselves from an alien invasion.

The Adventure Begins With a New Trailer for Tintin

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is the first instalment in a planned trilogy of computer-animated motion-capture adaptations of George Remi’s series of comic strips. When Tintin and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship they set off on their first adventure, a treasure hunt.

MSN have released an exclusive second trailer for the film this week, only a day after releasing the trailer for another of Spielberg’s film, War Horse.

The script is based on three of the Tintin stories – The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham’s Treasure, with screenplay written by Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim), Joe Cornish (Attack The Block), and Steven Moffat (TV’s Sherlock & Doctor Who).
