Film Review: Red Sparrow

Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Jason Matthews, Red Sparrow follows ballerina Dominika Egorova (Jennifer Lawrence) who is recruited to ‘Sparrow School,’ a Russian intelligence service where she is forced to use her body as a weapon. Her first mission is targeting a C.I.A. agent (Joel Edgerton) who threatens to unravel the security of both nations.

Film Review: Exodus – Gods and Kings

Directed by Ridley Scott, Exodus: Gods and Kings tells the epic biblical adventure of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) and his daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Finding out that he is not the son of a King he was raised to believe he was, Moses is asked by God to rise up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.

The Great Gatsby Film Adaptation

It has recently been reported that Baz Luhrmann has met with Leonardo DiCaprio, Rebecca Hall and Tobey Maguire with an idea of casting the trio in a new film adaptation of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. At the time of first writing this post, this was all only rumour. Now, a year later in October 2011, filming is underway with an official cast, so carry on reading for a recent update.
