Film Review: Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

Based on Ted Bundy‘s former girlfriend Elizabeth Kendall‘s memoir, The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy, and directed by Joe Berlinger, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is told from Kendall’s point of view as she refused for years to acknowledge that her boyfriend was a serial killer. Following the courtroom frenzy that ensued in 1970s America, headed by Judge Edward Cowart (John Malkovich), the film tells the story of when Kendall, then a young single mother (Lily Collins), met Bundy (Zac Efron) whilst he was studying law. Bundy soon became famous for committing several heinous crimes against women, despite her disbelief.

Film Review: Bird Box

Directed by Susanne Bier and based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Josh Malerman, Bird Box sees an ominous unseen presence spread across the world, as it drives most of society to commit suicide. Pregnant Malorie (Sandra Bullock) finds safety with others – including Tom (Trevante Rhodes), Douglas (John Malkovich), Greg (BD Wong), Cheryl (Jacki Weaver), and Olympia (Danielle Macdonald). Five years later, however, she must make it through a forest and river blindfolded, along with her two children (Vivien Lyra Blair and Julian Edwards), in a desperate bid to reach safety.

Film Review: Warm Bodies

Directed by Jonathan Levine, Warm Bodies follows the developing relationship between a zombie named R (Nicholas Hoult) and a human called Julie (Teresa Palmer), who is the daughter of the leader of the human survivor group, Colonel Grigio (John Malkovich). After saving her from an attack that takes the life of her boyfriend Perry (Dave Franco) and leaving behind her best friend Nora (Analeigh Tipton), R takes a sudden attraction to Julie that his corpse-like self doesn’t quite know how to handle. As Julie begins to see that R is different from the other zombies, the two form a special relationship that set in motion a sequence of events that might transform their entire lifeless world for the better.
