Film Review: Noah

Directed and co-written by Darren Aronofsky, Noah is a biblically inspired epic that follows the story of a man, Noah (Russell Crowe), and his family – his wife Naameh (Jennifer Connelly), sons Shem (Douglas Booth), Ham (Logan Lerman), and Japheth (Leo McHugh Carroll), Shem’s wife Ila (Emma Watson), and grandfather Methuselah (Anthony Hopkins) – who is chosen by his world’s creator to undertake a momentous mission before an apocalyptic flood cleanses the world. A story of courage, sacrifice and hope, as Noah is faced by an army led by the man who killed his father, Tubal-cain (Ray Winstone), how far will he go to accomplish a task set to him by God?

Based on Stephen Chbosky‘s 1999 book of the same name, and directed and written by the author himself, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower follows the shy and unpopular freshman, Charlie (Logan Lerman), who is nervous about beginning his first year of high school. Taken under the wings of two seniors, Patrick (Ezra Miller) and Sam (Emma Watson), Charlie is welcomed into the real world of friendships, first loves, drugs, and the general awkwardnesses of adolescence, as the people he meets who help him to find out who he really is. But is it only a matter of time before his traumatised past creeps up on him again?

Anthony Hopkins Climbs Aboard The Ark for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah

The cast for Darren Aronofsky‘s Biblical retelling of Noah just keeps getting better and better, with Sir Anthony Hopkins becoming the most recently announced to board the ark.

Hopkins, best known for his role as Hannibal, will play Noah’s grandfather, the 900-year-old Methusaleh, who dies seven days before the Great Flood.

Emma Watson In Talks To Join Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’

Emma Watson is in talks to join Darren Aronofsky’s cast of Noah, it has been recently announced, an upcoming Biblical retelling of the classic tale of Noah and his ark.

Already starring Russell Crowe as the Biblical ark builder, Watson is in discussions to play Ila, a young woman who develops a close relationship with Noah’s son, Shem, who will be played by Douglas Booth.

This week we have the first trailer for Steven Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower, an adaptation of his acclaimed novel of the same name.

Following Logan Lerman in the lead role, the film follows his character as an introverted high school freshman who finds acceptance in two senior students, one played by Emma Watson and the other by Ezra Miller, as he is caught between trying to live his life and escape it.

New Images for ‘The Perks Of Being A Wallflower’

Three new images for author and director Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower have been released this month, which emphasise the film’s romantic setting as Emma Watson and Logan Lerman lead in this young adult novel adaptation.

The story follows a shy, unpopular high-school freshman, Charlie (Lerman), who is coping with his mental issues while trying to find a place to belong. Through a series of letters to an anonymous person, he explores his awkward adolescence and is introduced to a world of drugs and sex by his senior friends Sam (Watson) and Patrick (Ezra Miller) in 1991 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Film Review: The Three Musketeers

Based on a 1844 French novel titled Les Trois Mousquetaires, written by Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers has had a wide range of TV and film adaptations. Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, this latest reinterpretation is a 3D adaptation following the same story but with a cast of new faces that takes advantage of the latest cinema technology.

Set in the 17th century, the handsome D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman) travels to Paris in hope of joining the famed Musketeers, Athos (Matthew Macfadyen), Aramis (Luke Evans) and Porthos (Ray Stevenson), who are currently down on their luck. Now, they must now unite to defeat a beautiful double agent, Milady De Winter (Milla Jovovich), who is playing both sides with the evil Duke of Buckingham (Orlando Bloom) in a plan to seize the French throne and engulf Europe in war.
