From Kick-Ass‘ director Matthew Vaughn and based on the comic book The Secret Service, created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar, Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization, headed by Arthur (Michael Caine) and fronted by Galahad (Colin Firth) and Merlin (Mark Strong). When a global threat emerges from twisted tech genius Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson), the organisation recruit an unrefined but promising street kid, Eggsy (Taron Egerton), into their ultra-competitive training program.

DVD Review: Kick-Ass 2

Written and directed by Jeff Wadlow and based on two of Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr‘s comic books, Kick-Ass 2 picks up with self-made high school superhero Dave a.k.a. Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson) after his heroic antics from the first film have inspired a citywide wave of masked vigilantes. Now, Kick-Ass face a formidable challenge brought on by the vengeful Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), who has transformed himself into the world’s first super villain, The Mother Fucker, determined to avenge the death of his late father, who previously perished at the hands of Kick-Ass and Hit Girl. But as Mindy (Chloë Grace Moretz) hangs up her Hit Girl uniform and navigates the treacherous high-school social scene, Kick-Ass is forced to patrol the streets with Justice Forever, a fearless group of urban watchdogs fronted by former mob thug Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey).

Jim Carrey May Yet Kick-Ass

Universal Pictures are attempting to court Jim Carrey for Never Back Down director Jeff Wadlow’s Kick-Ass sequel, it has been announced this week.

A self-professed fan of Matthew Vaughn‘s original, who will be writing the script for this sequel, Carey would play the part of Colonel Stars, a military-themed superhero who founds the super-team Justice Forever.

Tweets Confirm A ‘Wanted’ Sequel

Writer of Wanted, Derek Haas has been busy tweeting getting our hopes up for a sequel of the 2008 action film starring James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.

Loosely based on Mark Millar‘s comics, McAvoy played the character of Wesley, an average guy who was being cheated on by his girlfriend and working in a dead-end job with a bitch of a boss. Soon enough, he was taught to bend bullets and flip cars in slow-motion a mysterious Fraternity.

The film achieved a box office take north of $300m so a sequel was always on the cards. It has now been confirmed through Empire that original screenwriters Haas and Michael Brandt have been re-hired to start working on Wanted 2.
