TV Review: Game of Thrones (Sky Atlantic) – Season Eight

The eighth and final season of Sky Atlantic‘s Game of Thrones aired from April until May, consisting of only six episodes. Written by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, the latest season brought the franchise to an end, seeing the conclusion of the franchise’s two main conflicts: the Great War against the Army of the Dead – with many of the main characters converging in Winterfell with their armies to take on the Night King – and the Last War for control of the Iron Throne – as the characters return to King’s Landing in an attempt to unseat Queen Cersei Lannister as the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.

Film Review: The Maze Runner – The Scorch Trials

The second book adaptation in James Dashner‘s The Maze Runner trilogy, The Scorch Trials, once again directed by Wes Ball, follows Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and the rest of the Gladers moments after escaping the maze. Told that they are now being taken to safety, the truth quickly becomes apparent and it seems that the maze was only the beginning. Now, their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape that was once a major city, now scorched to the ground and consumed by a disease known as the Flare. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces, only to uncover the shocking plans that WCKD has had planned for them all along.

After escaping the maze, the Gladers are told that they are now being taken to safety. But the truth quickly becomes apparent, and as the Gladers search for clues about the mysterious and powerful organisation known as WCKD, it seems that the maze was only the beginning. Now, their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape that was once a major city, now scorched to the ground and consumed by a disease known as the Flare. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers uncover the shocking plans that WCKD has had planned for them all along.

Adapted once again by Wes Ball, the second film adaptation, The Scorch Trials, is set to be released at the beginning of September.

Film Review: Furious 7

The seventh installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise and directed by James Wan, Furious 7 continues the unstoppable franchise as the crew have returned to the United States to live normal lives. That it is until Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), a rogue special forces assassin seeking to avenge his comatose younger brother, puts them in danger once again, as he seeks revenge against the franchises best – Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker), Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), Roman (Tyrese Gibson), and Tej (Ludacris). To get to Deckard, Toretto must first do a favour for Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell), and find hacker Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel).
