Red Riding Hood Love Triangle

A while ago, I posted about a series of ‘Not-So-Childish Fairytales’ with the release of Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke‘s more adult adaptation of the fairytale classic Red Riding Hood, staring Amanda Seyfried, which is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray next week on 14th June.

Not-So-Childish Fairytales

With two of the most recent films being advertised on TV at the minute, it seems that everyone is having a shot at taking a famed fairytale and putting an adult twist on it to make it their own.

Red Riding Hood, currently being shown in UK cinemas, is based on the classic Little Red Riding Hood. Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl falls for an orphaned woodcutter. Directed by Twilight’s Catherine Hardwicke, Red Riding Hood follows a very similar storyline to Bella Swan’s vampire/werewolf love triangle. Valerie (Amanda Seyfried) is torn between two men; she is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). But which is the feared werewolf that threatens the village?
