Film Review: Ready Player One

Based on Ernest Cline‘s 2011 novel of the same name and directed by Steven Spielberg, Ready Player One is set in the year 2045 when people can escape their harsh reality in the OASIS, an immersive virtual world where you can go anywhere, do anything, and be anyone. When the creator of the game, James Halliday (Mark Rylance), dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg. Designed to find a worthy heir, this egg contains his immense fortune and control of the Oasis. When unlikely hero Wade Watts (Tye Shridane) conquers the first challenge of the reality-bending treasure hunt, he and his friends – including Samantha (Olivia Cooke) – are hurled into a fantastical universe of discovery and danger to save their world.

New War Horse Featurette Highlights All British Cast

A new featurette for Steven Spielberg‘s upcoming war-time drama, War Horse, has been released this week, focusing on the film’s British cast including Jeremy Irvine, Emily Watson, David Thewlis, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

War Horse follows a young boy, Albert, played by Jeremy Irvine (TV’s Life Bites), and his horse, Joey. Despite being too young to enlist in to the cavalry, Albert heads to France when his horse is sold and sent into the trenches of War. War Horse is a compelling tale of their bond, and is Spielberg’s seventh film set in the World War era.

Plans for ‘Tintin 2’ Already In Motion

Even though The Adventures of Tintin is still yet to be released in the US, the film’s sequel is already underway with British screenwriter Anthony Horowitz already at work on the script.

The Tintin films, based on a series of comic books created by Belgian artist Hergé, were always pitched and planned as a trilogy that would begin under Steven Spielberg’s direction and continue with Peter Jackson taking the directorial reins.

‘Tintin 2’ Already In Motion

The Adventure Begins With a New Trailer for Tintin

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is the first instalment in a planned trilogy of computer-animated motion-capture adaptations of George Remi’s series of comic strips. When Tintin and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship they set off on their first adventure, a treasure hunt.

MSN have released an exclusive second trailer for the film this week, only a day after releasing the trailer for another of Spielberg’s film, War Horse.

The script is based on three of the Tintin stories – The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham’s Treasure, with screenplay written by Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim), Joe Cornish (Attack The Block), and Steven Moffat (TV’s Sherlock & Doctor Who).

The Latest Trailer for ‘War Horse’ Gallops Onto Our Screens

This week sees the release of the first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s war-time drama, War Horse, which follows the story a young boy, Albert, played by Jeremy Irvine (TV’s Life Bites), and his horse, Joey. Despite being too young to enlist in to the cavalry, Albert heads to France when his horse is sold and sent into the trenches of War. War Horse is a compelling tale of their bond, and Spielberg’s seventh film set in the World War era.

The film is based on both a children’s novel of the same name, written by Michael Morpurgo and first publishes in the UK in 1982, and also on the 2007 stage adaptation.

Film Review: Super 8

From the incredible combination that is director and writer J. J. Abrams and producer Steven Spielberg, Super 8 is a sci-fi adventure about a young group of friends who witness a mysterious train crash. Resulting in a number of strange happenings around town, the group take it upon themselves to investigate into the creepy phenomenon. Here, their friendships are put to the test as bonds are developed and a romance blossoms. Whilst you may expect a scary creature-feature, Super 8 is all PG and it’s these relationships that are the focus of the story.
