In anticipation for the upcoming release of Pixels on 12th August, this week we take a look at some of the best video game moments in film.

From Scott Pilgrim playing a fictional version of Dance Dance Revolution, to Wreck-It Ralph leaving his own game to win a heroes medal of his own, when a scene involves going to the arcades or sees a character playing one of our favourite video games, we’re suddenly filled with a huge amount of nostalgia.

My Top 10 Films of 2013

It’s that time of year again, so here are my top 10 films of 2013.

This year I have watched more films than I ever have in a year before, reaching a total of 771 films (82 released that year and 665 for the first time). My most watched directors were Joel and Ethan Coen and my most watched actors were Robert De Niro and John Goodman.

Film Review: Wreck-It Ralph

The latest from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Wreck-It Ralph, directed by Rich Moore, follows video game villain Wreck-It Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly), who rebels against his role and sets out to fulfil his dream of becoming a hero by game-jumping in his arcade world. Things don’t go quite to plan, however, when Ralph’s quest inadvertently brings havoc to the whole arcade, as he befriends Sugar Rush racer Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) and his game partner Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer) and Hero’s Duty leader Calhoun (Jane Lynch) are forced to come looking for him.

Trailer Trash Feature: 10th – 23rd September

It’s that time again and with a host of new trailers released over the past two weeks I’d be surprised if you can’t find something to enjoy from this week’s feature. With a first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s latest film, Lincoln, and a number of roles for Oscar winner Christopher Walken, we also have the first look at an adaptation of the fantasy romance novel Beautiful Creatures and a Sundance winner about getting Smashed and then sobering up.
