(Written for Lost In The Multiplex)
This month we have an interesting new trailer for The Host, an adaptation of Twilight author Stephenie Meyer’s sci-fi romance.
Directed by Andrew Niccol, the new trailer does a great job of setting up the film’s plot, which is about the survival of love and the human spirit in a time of war, set in a futuristic world that has been invaded by an unseen enemy that host themselves in humans.
Niccol didn’t do a brilliant job with his last sci-fi project, In Time, but hopefully with a solid original source behind it the story may come to life much better this time around. The new trailer doesn’t look awful, anyway.
Starring Saoirse Ronan, Diane Kruger, William Hurt, Jake Abel and Max Irons, The Host is set to be released on 29th March, 2013.
The Host is my one of my favorite books. Though it was a bit sloppily written I hope they do the storyline justice with the movie.
