Warning: the following trailer may evoke a strong emotional reaction.
The death of Robin Williams saddened us all last year. This new trailer would be impressive enough, but knowing that Boulevard sees William’s final dramatic performance makes it all the more special.
Directed by Dito Montiel (The Son of No One), Boulevard premiered at Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year and looks set to be a poignant and sensitive drama, with William’s role being compared to his work in Good Will Hunting and One Hour Photo.
Nolan Mack (Robin Williams) has worked at the same bank for almost 26 years in a life of monotony. He and his wife Joy (Kathy Baker) have embraced their marriage as a convenient distraction from facing reality. However one day, what starts as an aimless drive down an unfamiliar street turns into a life-altering decision for Nolan. When he meets a troubled young man named Leo (Roberto Aguire) on his drive home, Nolan finds himself breaking from the confines of his old life and coming to terms with who he really is.
The trailer really does give the impression that this is going to be one of Williams’ best performances yet, but we’ll get one final fill of the legendary actor in August as he voices the dog, Dennis, in the Terry Jones comedy, Absolutely Anything.
Boulevard doesn’t have a UK release date yet, but with the release of the following trailer, we’re sure to hear more news soon.
