Film Review: The Lego Batman Movie

The Lego Batman Movie, directed by Chris McKay, centers on the DC Comics character Batman (voiced by Will Arnett) as he attempts to overcome his greatest fear in order to stop the Joker’s (Zach Galifianakis) latest plan, whilst also discovering that he has accidentally adopted a teenage orphan who wishes to become his sidekick (Michael Cera).

Rating:

Just when we thought we were getting bored of superhero stories, this comes along and proves that there’s still a lot that can be done with them.

Everybody loved The Lego Movie, and what better way to introduce us to a whole new host of Lego characters than to do a superhero special. Batman’s character was set-up brilliantly in the Lego film and that humour is inventively expanded in this. The jokes are just as laugh out loud funny, the animation just as pristine, and the voice cast makes all of that all-the-more better.
