Director of next month’s Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman, Shawn Levy has recently revealed two major projects for the upcoming year – an adaptation of the Frankenstein novel and an adaptation of Fantastic Voyage.
First rumoured for the adaptation of Frankenstein last month, Levy admitted to ComingSoon that he has plans to adapt Max Landis‘ screenplay based on Mary Shelley‘s 1818 novel. Details are few but Levy hints, “It’s a radical retelling of that Frankenstein legend.”
His second project involves an adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s screen play based on Harry Kleiner’s 1966 sci-fi novel, Fantastic Voyage, which appears to be under way as well.
“I’ve been working on [Fantastic Voyage] with Jim Cameron for the last seven months,” he said, “We’ve got a script and a world design that we love. It’ll be an underwater, 3D action sci-fi extravaganza.”
Real Steel is set to be released on October 7th.
